Mentoring Our Students to Reading Success
CISP partners with local elementary schools to
provide this program. Adult mentors are recruited from our local
community to read with at-risk readers. The role of the mentor in
this one-on-one relationship based program is to be an encouraging
partner in helping the child to see themselves as a "reader." Contact

Math Mentoring
CISP partners with local elementary and middle
schools to provide this after school program for elementary and middle
school students struggling with math. CISP recruits volunteer mentors
to help kids achieve math success with the guidance of a CISP math

Family Strengthening
Programs consist of monthly and seasonal evening
offerings for students and families in the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula
areas. Held at local schools, offerings include parenting classes,
literacy events, and family/student consultation and services brokering.

Student and Family Services
CISP provides supportive services to address issues
of concern through a whole school approach. Examples include: helping
students meet academic and behavioral goals through goal setting
and recognition events, providing Master's level social work to
facilitate group counseling for troubled middle school youth, supporting
school strategies to reduce bullying and harrassment through theater,
linking students to summer camp scholarships, and
more.
