CIS of Peninsula assists local leaders and education advocates
as they explore and implement CISP programs in our community.
Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula currently utilize many CISP
Programs including:
- Reading Mentoring Program:
Artondale, Evergreen, Minter Creek, Harbor Heights
and Vaughn Elementary Schools
- Math Mentoring Program:
Purdy Elementary; Harbor Ridge, Key Peninsula and Kopachuck Middle Schools; and Peninsula High School
- Student and Family Services Program:
Includes brokering services and linking families
with necessary healthcare, parent support, one-on-one child
mentoring, mental health counseling, home visitation, transportation
assistance, and Relationship Skill Building groups
for students struggling with issues of violence, substance
use and low self-esteem
- Family Strengthening Programs:
Partnering with local schools to host programs that
focus on improving parenting skills by facilitating Love
and Logic — a parenting and family skills workshop
- First and Goal:
Honoring students who set and achieve personal improvement
goals through recognition events throughout the year and
by treating them in November to a crowning celebratory lunch
with the Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field
